Supporting Our Staff
The PTA provides two types of support directly to Rutherford teachers: house funds which can be used for classroom supplies and resources; and, grants for larger scale items, resources or programs that are not funded within the current school budget.
House Funds
Please e-mail our Treasurer for details about your individual house fund budget.
Purchasing Guidelines
- Amazon purchases can be made using the PTA Amazon Business Account. E-mail our Treasurer for login information and directions.
- If your item is less than $200, please purchase your item and then fill out a reimbursement request. Submit your completed form to the PTA Treasurer’s mailbox.
- If your item is greater than $200 and will be purchased online, e-mail our Treasurer with a link to your item(s). We will purchase the item on your behalf.
- If your item is greater than $200, and will NOT be purchased online, e-mail our Treasurer to determine the best course of action.
- Purchases made with house funds or grant money remain the property of Rutherford Elementary.
- When applicable, please label your item “Donated by the Rutherford PTA”
Reimbursement Instructions
- Reimbursement request forms are due on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month; Checks will be distributed on the following Wednesday.
- Submit completed form & all receipts* to the PTA Treasurer’s box in the school office.
- A receipt must be included with each expense report. If you make purchases online, please print your receipt/order confirmation and make sure that it includes the costs + fees for shipping/ handling & tax. Copies of an online wish list, shopping cart, order confirmation email and packing lists are not acceptable.
- Reimbursement requests without proper documentation will be denied.
Grant Program for 2023-2024 School Year
How to Apply
- Grant funds will be split between the fall and spring to ensure all staff members have the ability to submit applications
- Complete the online grant application
Deadlines
- Applications for fall grants will be accepted beginning August 1 until funds run out
- Applications for spring grants will be accepted January 1 until May (or until funds run out)
- Decisions will be communicated two weeks later, on the first of the following month
